Death by Chocolate

"Oh, Bob! You devil!" Scarlet, a striking character in the play, charms the audience!
Citizen Advocacy of South-Central Indiana’s “Death by Chocolate” interactive murder mystery, was held on February 1st, 2008 at St. Thomas Lutheran Church. The play was a sellout, and the Bloomington Playwrights Project actors, directed by Lori Garraghty, provided great enjoyment for our guests!
The wonderful cast gave their talent and time to entertain our audience with an adapted script from Next of Kin, by Haley Productions. The creative actors were Lori Arnold Garraghty, Frank Buczolich, Jeremy Nottingham, Russell McGee, Margot Morgan, Steven Eheart, Breshaun Joyner, Renee Reed, and Emily Mohler, all under the direction of Ms. Garraghty.
Lennie’s chef, Fred Manion, and his staff, as well as Sara Sheikh, of One World Enterprises, again deserve provided the scrumptious rich chocolate dessert; Dillman’s Farm of Bloomington created an $80.00 basket of goodies which was given to the person that guessed the culprit who did the “crime;” Kathleen A. Sterling and Matt Norris designed the clever Program.
Indiana University’s Zeta Tau Alphas, guided by graduate student Megan Welch, were greeters and servers throughout the evening. Kay Hill, Administrative Director of St. Thomas Lutheran Church, and the church minister and staff willingly gave their support and help to CASCI by providing the event location, kitchen and serving items, dishes and cutlery, as well as selling tickets to our community residents.
Thank you to all of these people mentioned above, as well as a huge “thank you” to Susan Rinne, Options Director, and Carrie Selby, the Chocolatefest Director, for including us as one of the local not-for-profits to benefit from the wonderful Week of Chocolate!
We hope to see our community again next year as we present our annual murder mystery, with a new plot for those who enjoy “murder with a chocolate twist!”
